Spotted in: Downtown Oakland
Occupation: Bookkeeper
What are you up to?
I'm heading to work on my way back from lunch.
Where do you work?
Square Peg Design. It's a way finding and signage design company.
What is way finding design?
We work with architects to do logo and interior signage for buildings and make sure it's all unified.
How did you get into that?
I'm a bookkeeper there and I just saw an ad on Craigslist and applied and got the job!
What are some fun projects you've seen at work?
We worked on Bruj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, the one in Dubai. You know, the one that Tom Cruise did his stunt on for Mission: Impossible (laughs). So that was pretty interesting.
What is something that's sparked your interest lately?
I've started a book club with a group of girlfriends. We're going to read this book that I've heard a lot of good things about—Half A Yellow Sun.
What's a recent challenge you've overcome?
Wow, I didn't think this interview was going to get so introspective! I guess getting rid of my credit card debt.
Ah! What did you realize was your major spending?
Food! I realized that I just can't go and buy like a piece of fresh salmon to make for dinner all the time. I live by Whole Foods so it's really dangerous. And I think I only have time for one more question because I have to head back to work!
How would you describe your personal style and tell me about your outfit!
Just whatever I threw on this morning? This dress is from J Crew it's actually a t-shirt. The socks are from my roommate's friend who went to Japan and left them at our place so I inherited them. I couldn't find my sunglasses so I dug these out of my costume box.
